HETHERSETT ATHLETIC v RAILWAY RANGERS Home 28/11/99 Hethersett gained a comprehensive win over local rivals Railway to complete the first double of the season Hethersett were missing leading scorer Robbie Lincoln but welcomed back his normal strike partner Lewis Mace. Scott Newstead also made his return after missing games due to school work. On a heavy pitch neither side created any real chances, both sides giving the ball away to easily. Railway were reduced to ten men when Harrison made ground and was brought down from behind in the box. The guilty player dismissed immediately. Dave Martin in the absence of Lincoln took the kick to take the lead. 1-0 Steve Hyett was again working hard in midfield and he got the second goal after a long range effort took a deflection over the stranded keeper. 2-0 The home side were guilty of spoiling there good approach work by being to fussy and clever in the penalty area, allowing the chances to be lost. The third goal came after the ball was delivered early to allow Rob Harrison to round the keeper and score. 3-0 H-T 3-0 Railway looked a beaten side and Harrison rubbed salt into the wound with a delicate lob from twelve yards. 4-0 The impressive Steve Hyett then scored twice in quick succession to take his tally to three. 6-0 The problems piled up for the visitors when another player was red carded after keeping out a header with his hand. Dave Martin's kick was saved but Hyett collected the rebound and spun to fire past the keeper. 7-0 An own goal further added to the misery for the visitors after Jones cross was deflected.. 8-0 Lewis Mace had been guilty of some poor finishing but he finally found the target from close range. 9-0 Steve Hyett was really enjoying himself and his passion and work rate were a lesson to some of his colleagues who were not as committed. Rob Harrison took the next chance to score his third goal, 10-0 Before Martin ran through the disillusioned Railway defenders to score his second goal. 11-0 The final goal came from Andy Newstead,s far post cross that Harrison headed in. 12-0 RESULT 12-0 |
