HETHERSETT ATHLETIC F.C.

1999/2000

HEATH HOUSE  v  HETHERSETT ATHLETIC

Away

12/12/99

Hethersett gained their third double of the season away to Heath house at Sprowston rec. On a cold blustery morning Hethersett kicked up the slope against the wind and soon had the home side pegged back. As early as the sixth minute Nick Jones made ground on the right wing and his low cross was swept home from seven yards by the right foot of Robbie Lincoln.

Another good passing move from deep involving Danny Gaskin and Robbie Lincoln created the chance for Rob Harrison to score the second goal. The home keeper was having a busy time and twice he denied Lincoln with good saves. Harrison was unlucky to have his headed goal ruled out by the official after winning the aerial challenge with the keeper. Hethersett were playing some fast attacking football and Angus Greenhalgh was having a quiet time guarding the visitors goal. Hethersett scored again just before the break when Scott Newstead made the chance for Harrison to score his second.

H-T 0-3

Early pressure from Hethersett saw more missed chances and good saves form the keeper to keep the score down. Nick Jones was having another fine game and his pace and crosses from the right continued to create chances for his strikers. Jones himself scored the fourth, beating his defender and rifling a low shot past the keeper. Neil Cockerton and Steve Hyett were working hard in midfield to win tackles and release the rampant strikers. Cockerton, Steward and Harrison all went close again before Lincoln scored his second from another Jones cross. Straight from the kick off Hethersett won the ball back and a superb three man move ended with Harrison arriving at the far post to score again. Steve Hyett then found space and from twenty yards fired in a rising shot to beat the diving keeper. Heath house were totally demoralized and with the driving rain in their faces were a beaten force. Hethersett had the luxury of bringing on Lewis Mace for the final ten minutes and the striker took his two chances well to finish off the scoring.
