Hethersett finally got back into action after the Christmas break. Today marked the anniversary of the tragic loss our team mate and friend Lee Thompson. Both teams stood for a minutes silence in memory of our dear young friend. Ray, Mary and Ben Thompson attended the game to give their full support for the boys.

Hethersett started off in bright sunshine against Coachmakers who were fielding a much changed side. The boys welcomed back Ben Watt who had missed several games due to work. Hethersett were taking time to get any real continuity into there game and the visitors were looking to make quick breaks when they had possession. A great fast flowing move with Lincoln and Mace provided the chance for Scott Newstead to score from four yards.

This goal helped to calm the nerves of the home side and within five minutes a reckless challenge on Mace, allowed Robbie Lincoln the chance to score from the spot. Hethersett were playing some nice football and Goals from Steve Hyett, Nick Jones and Lewis Mace saw them go into a comfortable lead.

Coachmakers came out for the second half working hard to get back into the game and pulled a goal back after five minutes when they caught the home side pushing to many players forward. The game began to get scrappy with the home players losing concentration and two sloppy misses from Mace and Harrison just about summed up the failings of the second half. Danny Gaskin changed the apathy when he won the ball, made ground and from twenty five yards unleashed a super left foot strike that rocketed past the keeper into the net.

The last goal came almost on the final whistle, decisive midfield play allowed Harrison the chance to score the seventh goal.
