Hethersett travelled the short distance to face Bystanders at Eaton Park and despite the hosts lowly position, they gave the Hethersett lads plenty to think about. Hethersett,s apathy was apparent throughout the first half and in terms of effort and work rate they came a long way short of the Bystanders team. The home side looked and played as if they were the favourites

And were disappointed to go behind in the twentieth minute to an own goal. Scott Newstead,s in-swinging corner deflecting off a defender.  0-1  Two more good Hethersett chances went begging, Lincoln headed over from close range a James Reeve cross. Lewis Mace should have done better when he met Danny Gaskins free kick but headed straight into the keepers arms.

Positional changes saw Lincoln and Harrison swap roles and the improvement was immediate. Lewis Mace got into position to win the ball and score from close range. 0-2

Hethersett hit a purple patch and the goals finally came. Rob Harrison dispatched Nick Jones long throw with a powerful header. 0-3  Gaskin, Mace and Harrison all player a part in a flowing move to enable Robbie Lincoln to hammer home the next goal. 0-4. Chris Steward and Lincoln created the chance for Rob Harrison to sprint clear and fire in his second goal.

0-5 . . Bystanders despite the score line , broke and were rewarded with a well worked goal.

1-5 . ..Back came Hethersett, Nick Jones had been a constant thorn on The right wing and from another surging run fired home from the edge of the area. 1-6.  Greenhalgh came on to replace Steve Hyett in goal and his first task was to retrieve the ball from the net after his defenders presented the ball to the Bystanders player.  2-6   Hethersett still found time to score again when Rob Harrison made the chance to score his third goal.  2-7
